FAQs
Q: How can occupational therapy help me as a caregiver to support my client/adult child?

A: Occupational therapy can assist with helping a caregiver understand their client/adult child's motor, cognitive, and sensory processing differences. After assessing a client's present level of performance, OT can collaborate with the caregiver to formulate individualized environmental modifications and strategies to best support the client in participating in activities of daily living (ADLs) during their daily routine in their natural environment.
Q: How can occupational therapy help me as a neurodivergent adult and/or adult with intellectual or developmental disability?

A: Occupational therapy can support you in working on developing/honing self-advocacy skills (such as understanding what kind of accommodations would be most beneficial in an education/work setting), vocational skills, executive functioning skills, (e.g: planning and organizing your daily routine), household management skills, emotional regulation skills (e.g: learning interoceptive awareness and coping strategies), and more.
Q: Are services in-person or virtual?

A: Occupational therapy services will be offered primarily virtually as telehealth services. However, in-person services can be provided on a case by case basis.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: Adaptive Growth OT is an out of network provider. Services are cash-based in order to provide wraparound services that would typically be limited by insurance. A superbill can be provided upon request for potential insurance reimbursement. Adaptive Growth OT is also working on becoming a DSHS DDA contracted provider if you currently participate in receiving services from the state.
